Honoring the Roots, Blossoming into the Future invites us into a living journey between memory and possibility. It is an invitation to pause and listen to the wisdom carried by our ancestors, cultures, communities, bodies, and the lands that have shaped us. Through the expressive arts, we honor the stories, traditions, struggles, and gifts that form the foundation of who we are.

By turning toward our roots with curiosity and respect, we reconnect with sources of resilience, creativity, belonging, and meaning that continue to nourish us in the present moment.

From these roots, we are called to blossom into the future with imagination, courage, and collective vision. As flowers emerge from deeply rooted ground, so too do new ways of healing, creating, learning, and being together arise from what has come before. This theme celebrates transformation as a process of growth that does not abandon the past but is enriched by it. Through embodied, intermodal, and creative exploration, we gather to weave ancient wisdom and emerging possibilities into a vibrant tapestry of collective becoming, cultivating futures that are rooted in connection, authenticity, and hope.

International Expressive Arts Festival Online & In Egypt

2026 Festival Gathering

The 2026 International Expressive Arts Egypt Festival unfolds through a unique dual format, offering two programs -online and in person-featuring pioneering and contemporary voices in Expressive Arts Therapy from around the world. This year’s gathering brings together over 40 expressive arts therapists and presenters across both formats, representing more than 15 countries, creating a rich international field of embodied learning, dialogue, and creative exchange.

The online festival takes place from September 18–20, 2026. The in-person festival will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from October 9–11, 2026, at Coventry University's New Capital campus in partnership with The Knowledge Hub Universities.

2025 Festival Gathering

The 2025 International Expressive Arts Egypt Festival was held over 17 days, from 3rd to 19th October 2025, emerging as one of the largest expressive arts gatherings globally. It brought together a vibrant international community of pioneers in psychology and expressive arts, with participants and presenters joining from more than 40 countries across both online spaces and in-person gatherings at Bayt Salam Holistic Health Centre in Cairo.

Over 60 workshops were offered, creating a rich field of embodied learning, dialogue, and creative exploration across cultures and disciplines. In alignment with the festival’s commitment to compassion and social responsibility, all proceeds were donated to support cancer patients, in honor of the memory of the passing mother of the founder, extending the spirit of healing beyond the festival into tangible acts of care and solidarity.

2024 Festival Gathering

The 2024 International Expressive Arts Egypt Festival - Arts of the Heart - marked the first edition of the festival in Egypt and the Middle East, held over three days from 3rd to 5th October 2024 at KMT House in Maadi, Cairo. It introduced a dedicated regional space for expressive arts practice, bringing together international facilitators, practitioners, and participants in a shared field of creativity, healing, and embodied exploration, with presenters joining from 9 countries.

The festival offered an immersive experience through visual arts, movement, drama, poetry, writing, music, sound, and nature-based practices, emphasizing the transformative power of the creative process rather than artistic skill. Through workshops, ceremonies, and collective circles, participants engaged in embodied learning, relational connection, and creative expression in a safe and supportive environment.

The 2024 edition laid the foundation for an expanding global festival journey, fostering connection, presence, and the emergence of a living community through the expressive arts.
